The thirteenth Article of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints reads:

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Our output is only as good as our intake. Therefore, choosing what we consume wisely is incumbent. If we indulge in a diet of negativity through social media or TV it can't help but affect our mindset. This article of faith can guide us in choosing what we consume and therefore, what we produce. When we consume media that uplifts or encourages kindness, we will begin to exhibit those same traits. When we consume media that strives to be well-informed and unbiased we will begin to exhibit those traits as well. We can and should strive to produce only what is virtuous, lovely, or that leads to good because in these things we find positivity and hope which leads to happiness.
