Setting the Stage for Success

I need a space free of clutter and noise to write at my best. Of course, having kids, dogs, and a spouse in the house doesn't always allow for optimal writing conditions. Sometimes I can power through and craft decent work despite noise and clutter but sometimes I have to put off writing for another time. Sometimes I have to wait till evening when I can prop myself up with pillows on my bed and type away on my laptop. Other times I might grab a favorite notebook and pen and head to a cafe bookshop where the smell of pastries and paper helps to stir creativity. What about you?
